Automation of Home & Office
BMS Smart Buildings & Smart Homes
Home & Office Automation is to simplify the way in which we interact with the electronic, mechanical and electrical devices found in all buildings. This is achieved by the use of an easy to understand and operate, colour Touch Screen Controller or controllers that are programmed to your specific needs.
Traditional functional parts including switches, remote controls, thermostats, taps, etc. are hidden. Effectively they are redundant as all are easily controlled from the comfort of the easy to use Touch Screen Controller.
Touch Screen Controller can be mounted into the wall as would be a switch or free standing as would be a remote control. Home & Office Automation uses one or more hidden Central Processors to control all aspects of the buildings functions and features automatically and if required remotely.
Automated home’s are often called a Smart Home’s and Automated Offices are often referred to as Good Offices where people like to work.
Home & Office Automation can include the scheduling and automatic operation of Audio & Video content storage and playback, heating and air conditioning, window coverings, security systems, lighting, water sprinkling and food preparation appliances. Home & Office Automation may also allow vital building functions to be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world using a Smart Phone or computer connected to the Internet. Besides the functions already mentioned, remote control can be extended to video conferencing, telephones and answering machines, fax machines and other communications equipment, and home robotics such as automatic vacuum cleaners.
The fundamental components of a well-designed Automation system include the input or control Touch Panel (or Touch Panels), a central rack to mount equipment into, a Processor (or Processors) with the appropriate programming, the various devices and systems to be controlled, interconnecting cables or wireless links, a high-speed Internet connection, and an emergency backup power source for the Processor, its peripherals, and the essential home systems.
